Overview

An Environmental Impact Assessment predicts how a proposed project will affect air, water, land, ecology and the surrounding community, and sets out the mitigation that keeps those effects within acceptable limits. It is the technical core of any clearance application.

Our EIA reports pair season-specific baseline monitoring with recognised prediction models and a costed Environmental Management Plan, so appraisal committees can trace every conclusion back to measured data.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between EIA and EMP?

The EIA predicts and evaluates the environmental effects of a project. The EMP is the action plan that follows from it — the specific mitigation measures, monitoring schedule, responsibilities and budgets used to control those effects during construction and operation.

How long does baseline monitoring take?

Baseline data is normally collected over one full season, excluding the monsoon unless the ToR requires otherwise. This is the single largest fixed element in an EIA schedule.

Do all projects need a full EIA?

No. Category B2 projects are often appraised without a full EIA, while category A and B1 projects require one. Correct screening at the start determines the study depth.
