Pollution Control Board Approvals (KSPCB & CPCB)
CTE, CTO, authorisations and renewals filed, defended and closed.
Overview
Almost every industrial and commercial establishment in Karnataka needs Consent to Establish before construction and Consent to Operate before production, issued by the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board under the Water Act, 1974 and the Air Act, 1981.
We classify your unit under the red, orange, green or white category, assemble the technical annexures the board expects, file through the KSPCB online system, attend inspections and carry the file through to grant and subsequent renewal.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between CTE and CTO?
Consent to Establish is obtained before you build or install, based on the proposed design. Consent to Operate is obtained after installation and before commercial production, and confirms that the pollution control systems are actually in place and performing.
How often must consent be renewed?
Validity depends on the category assigned by the board. Renewal applications should be filed several months before expiry to avoid operating on a lapsed consent.
What happens during a KSPCB inspection?
A board officer verifies that the site matches the application — treatment units, stacks, storage areas, meters and records. Discrepancies are the most common cause of delay, which is why we prepare the site beforehand.
