Frequently asked questions
Is ESG reporting mandatory for us?
Formal reporting obligations currently apply to specified listed entities, but unlisted suppliers increasingly face contractual ESG data requests from customers and lenders. Many companies start voluntarily for that reason.
What are Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions?
Scope 1 covers direct emissions from sources you own or control, Scope 2 covers purchased electricity and energy, and Scope 3 covers indirect value chain emissions such as purchased goods, logistics and end-of-life treatment.
How long does a first ESG baseline take?
For a single-site operation with reasonable records, a first baseline and materiality exercise is usually a matter of weeks. Multi-site groups take longer because of data consolidation.
